Eligiblity Criteria

To qualify for the D7 Visa in 2026, applicants must meet several requirements:

1. Nationality

You must be a non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizen.

2. Income/Business Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate savings exceeding €11,040 euros or more.

There is no fixed minimum investment amount for the D2 Visa. Instead, applications are assessed on viability and credibility, including:

  • A robust business plan

  • Evidence of sufficient financial resources to support both the business and personal living costs

  • Proof of relevant experience or qualifications

  • Demonstration that the business will be economically active in Portugal

Portuguese authorities evaluate applications case by case, focusing on sustainability rather than headline figures.

  • Clean criminal record and background checks are required
