Program Overview

The Italy Elective Residence Permit (ERP) is a long-term residency option for non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationals who can demonstrate that they have sufficient stable and ongoing income to support themselves and their families without employment in Italy. It is ideal for retirees, passive income earners, and individuals with substantial recurring income who want to live in Italy without working locally.

This permit leads to legal residency in Italy and provides a pathway toward permanent residency and, ultimately, Italian citizenship, subject to eligibility and legal requirements.
